Columbia Road
Ok, so it’s not a culinary stop… but it’s a stop that’s right up my alley. I love flowers and clip art and really good coffee. So when you mix that all together, you get Columbia Road. Adorable street filled with charming storefronts, cute cafes and a flower market on Sundays… quite lovely.

A lovely stroll…
I’m currently with my travel mate Emily, staying with her family in the beautiful town of Hipperholme which is a small town in Yorkshire, UK. Since neither of us can or will even attempt driving, we took a long walk thru the fields. We took one of the family’s dogs, Gemma, who looks like Max the dog from The Little Mermaid, so naturally I’m obsessed with her. But here are a few shots from the stroll…
Off to Manchester for the day…

Second Stop: Story Deli
I’m always up for dining out, and with Libby I definitely dined out 99% of the time. But there was one place in particular that I just fell in love with: Story Deli. Now, I’m not sure if it was the I’m-too-cool waitress or the lets-just-put-random-shit-around-the-room decor, but I was ogled by it. It’s pizza – and very good pizza for that matter – but more important it was the ambiance that I admired. Long, thick, reclaimed wood tables, oozing pillar candles, mismatched bar stools, antique mirrors, large glass windows. Just reeks of a great lazy sunday evening….
Don’t you think Brooklyn needs a place like this? Anyone know any investorss….??

So, we like to eat?
Libby and I have a lot in common. One thing in particular (and something that has become more apparent in the later part of our friendship) is our love for good food. Don’t get me wrong, we have always loved food… hello papa john’s garlic sauced breadsticks… But since we both have (well I had, she has) pretty demanding jobs in food related businesses, it has taken our love to a whole new level. So coming to visit I knew to expect something I like to call…

First Stop: Borough Market
This is a large open air food market with just about everything. Not going to lie, I was a bit overwhelmed by this place! Homemade Hummus, Cheese and Chorizo, Oh My! Dead Bunnies, Holy Crap!
First meal of the day was a Chorizo Sandwich. We knew it would be great beacuse the line was about 10 people long… Grilled Sourdough Bread, Olive Oil, Roasted Red Pepper, Chorizo (make that double Chorizo), Dressed Arugla = perfection.
Next… Veggie Table Halloumi Cheese Veggie Burger “Heavenly Halluomi.” Via www.theveggietable.co.uk “This is a match made in heaven: halloumi cheese with organic carrots, courgettes, fresh mint & coriander. It will blow your mind.”
That it did, my friend, that it did.
Until the next market…
